Practice Owner / Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Greater Boston MA

By far, the most important aspect of the treatment process is the quality of the relationship between a client and their therapist. Numerous studies have shown that the therapeutic relationship matters more than a specific modality or level of experience. I work to build a nonjudgemental connection built on trust, honesty, and acceptance. Of course, once a relationship has been established, there is work to do. I draw from a number of treatment modalities when working with clients: solution-focused, Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS) and narrative therapy. I frequently check in with clients to assess whether we are on the same page in terms of working towards the goals we have developed together.

For the past five years I’ve been working as a clinician at Justice Resource Institute providing family therapy to at-risk youth and their families. Clients frequently presented with symptoms related to complex post-traumatic stress disorder (c-PTSD) such as disordered attachment, relational conflict, depression, anxiety, behavioral issues, difficulties with trust, sleep issues, and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). I have received extensive training in the Attachment, Regulation, and Competency (ARC) Framework, which is an intervention used with children and adolescents who have experienced complex trauma, along with their caregivers. I received my M.Ed in Counseling and Psychology from Cambridge College and my Bachelors degree in Psychology from Pennsylvania State University.
