Beth Macrae, licsw
Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in Greater Boston, MA
I consider my role as therapist to create a collaborative space to authentically explore your personal strengths, abilities, and vulnerabilities through empathic support and optimism for positive change. I strive to create a safe place where issues or patterns can be identified and explored. I appreciate the whole person as a means to make sense of your experiences and behaviors. I am here to walk your journey with you while providing insight into what makes you who you are and providing tools for growth. I believe therapy is a place of compassion, warmth, acceptance, and authenticity.
My clinical experience and training includes community mental health, school-based therapy, adolescent inpatient and residential care, as well as private practice. I have over 10 years experience working with adolescents and young adults in these settings. I love working with clients around navigating life's transitions. I draw from multiple treatment modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), with the goal of meeting every client where they are. I also have a heart for new moms, parents navigating the school system to find support for their children, as well as women finding their voice. I have a true passion for adolescents and young adults as they discover who they are and what is important to them as an individual. It is a true pleasure to be present with my clients. It would be an honor to hear your story.
